But in the season, in the summer and in the fall, it is better to cook food for the child yourself from natural vegetables and fruits. Zucchini is a useful product that just needs to be included in the children's menu. It is with him that they recommend starting feeding for infants. Zucchini puree - general principles and methods of preparation

Zucchini puree is present in the diet of both infants - from 5-6 months, and children older than a year. Its cooking method is very simple - the vegetable is boiled and frayed. Most babies are given complementary foods in pure form, or can be diluted with mashed milk or a milk mixture. Older children are given additional ingredients - butter or vegetable oil, sugar, semolina, yolk or finely crushed greens. Puree is made both from zucchini alone and with the addition of potatoes, carrots, cottage cheese, apples, bananas.

Vegetables intended for the nutrition of the child should be taken only fresh, without damage. Both zucchini and ordinary young zucchini will do. They are cleaned and seeds removed.

Very often in recipes for children it is recommended to boil vegetables steamed, and not in water, for better preservation of nutrients. If there is no double boiler in your kitchen utensils, that's okay. It can be built independently. Pour a quarter of the water into an ordinary pot, put a colander on the top rim and put vegetables in it. Water will begin to boil, steam will rise and vegetables in a colander will be steamed until cooked. To make things go faster, the pan must be covered.

If zucchini is boiled not in steam, but in water, then they are dipped in boiling water. It is not poured very much - it should only cover them.

If vegetables were not grown on their own plot, but purchased at the market or in a store, before cooking, they should be soaked. Potatoes are best left in the water overnight, the remaining vegetables, including zucchini, are enough to soak for two hours. Recipe 1: Zucchini puree for children up to a year

Preparing the dish quickly. To give an additional taste, or to bring to a more liquid consistency, the prepared puree can be diluted with breast milk or a milk mixture. It is not necessary to salt it.

Ingredients: half or third of zucchini, water

Cooking method

Cut the pulp of zucchini into medium-sized cubes and boil until soft for 7-10 minutes. Grind vegetables in a blender or rub through a sieve. Then boil the mass for about two minutes on the stove and cool.

Recipe 2: Zucchini Puree with Semolina Puree

In the diet of children older than a year, there are already such products as semolina, butter, so their menu can be varied with a new dish. If the baby is allergic, milk can be replaced with water, semolina with rice flour (grind rice on a blender), and sugar with fructose (sold in the store).

Ingredients: one third of a small vegetable marrow, 1 tsp each semolina and sugar, 1 yolk and half a glass of milk.

Cooking method

Peel the zucchini, finely chop it (into 1x1 cm cubes). Mix milk with yolk, sugar and semolina and pour this mixture of zucchini.

If you have a double boiler, slow cooker or pressure cooker, you can use their help by setting the "steaming" mode and cook for about 20 minutes.

You can do it differently - place the zucchini with the egg-milk mixture in a small glass jar (0.5 l or less). Next, pour a little water into a regular pan (as for sterilization during canning). At the bottom, lay a cloth and put a jar of zucchini, cook until soft.

And another option: zucchini with the rest of the ingredients are boiled in a saucepan in the most usual way over low heat. In this case, you should always be near, stirring the contents so as not to stick.

Grind the finished mixture with a blender; when serving, a small piece of butter (5 g) can be put in a plate.

Recipe 3: Mashed Potato Zucchini

If the child does not want to eat mashed potatoes made from zucchini alone, they can be supplemented with potatoes. It turns out much tastier. You can cook with or without yolk.

Ingredients: half a small zucchini, 1 small potato, boiled yolk, teaspoon of vegetable oil, 2 tablespoons of milk.

Cooking method

Wash the potatoes and zucchini, peel, cut into slices or cubes and boil - 15-20 minutes. Wipe the prepared vegetables with the yolk. Add butter, milk and bring to a boil. Serve warm.

Recipe 4: Zucchini puree with apple

Almost every child will like this puree. Apples of any sort are suitable for him. If the apples are sour, you can add a little sugar to the mass (1 teaspoon). Or soften the taste of mashed potatoes with a couple of tablespoons of cream or milk. If the child is allergic, it is better to take apples in yellow or green.

Ingredients: half zucchini, 1 apple.

Cooking method

Peel the zucchini and apple, cut into cubes. Remove the seed box from apples first. It is better to cut the core with a margin so that bones or coarse films do not accidentally fall into mashed potatoes. Boil the vegetables separately, because they have different cooking times, the apple softens faster. Combine boiled vegetables, grind (with a blender or strainer) and bring to a boil.
