What to do on New Year's Eve? Some will answer that they will eat holiday dishes, then watch TV and go to bed. But why bored? Let's come up with an interesting scenario with entertainments and contests.

Before the festive evening, decorate the windows, walls, ceiling, flights of stairs, doors. Dress up the Christmas tree. Announce a home contest for the best garland and picture on the window.

Children especially love to paint on the windows. They like the pictures seen by friends and passers-by. It will take a few large brushes and gouache.

You can draw snowflakes with chalk, diluted with water, or toothpaste, but it has too sharp smell of freshness.

Prepare colored or shiny paper and a few scissors. Gather everyone at a common table, show the snowflake making scheme and offer to repeat. Children will compete and admire the resulting patterns.

Buy and ready-made garlands. Ask family members for advice, and where to place them? Let everyone help.

Organize a pre-holiday walk in a park or coniferous forest. Collect fallen cones and twigs. At home, make a New Year's composition.

Turn tedious cooking into an exciting family event. Consider the opinions of children and do not criticize anyone for culinary inexperience.

Make a menu together, it can include the main meat dish (chicken in the oven or barbecue on the grill), two or three salads (olivier, herring under a fur coat, mushroom glade, mimosa), slices of cheese, sausages and vegetables. For sweet cakes, sweets, fruits.

Conduct a roll making workshop. For this event, buy several sets of blanks. Give the most diligent student a prize in the form of a symbol of the year on the eastern calendar.

These are indispensable characters for a family New Year's holiday. You can order the services of professional artists. Or rent suits and ask friends to fulfill the role.

The most optimal option is to purchase (sew) New Year's costumes and store at home. Make yourself funny outfits. You will need old bathrobes, a stick for the staff, tinsel and doll wigs.

Children will be delighted when they recognize dad in Grandfather Frost, and Snegurochka in their mother.

Everyone will want to take turns trying on a false beard or a shiny crown. Here is another interesting competition for the best role.

Tell the younger generation about the New Year songs and games of your childhood. Print texts and distribute leaflets, turn on the music. Offer to sing in chorus "A Christmas tree was born in the forest."

Arrange in advance for everyone to prepare a room for a home concert.

Do not make exceptions for anyone, including singing a comic song yourself or showing a parody of your favorite character.

If the holiday is attended by the closest people, then usually no one is shy. If the children refuse to speak with strangers, then do not force.

Adults like to mentally return to childhood, so everyone is happy to have round dances around the tree with the kids.

Play the old Fanta game. These are leaflets from a notebook on which wishes are written.

What they write on phantoms:

  • Tell a poem about the Christmas tree.
  • Sing a verse from any song.
  • Show dance movement.
  • Kiss the one you like.
  • Make everyone a riddle.
  • Make a sandwich and present.
  • Organize a round dance around the Christmas tree.

Play the cast. Choose two people. One host, and the second artist. The presenter says in a whisper which character from a cartoon or a movie needs to be shown. The rest should ask suggestive questions or ask for more. The artist responds only with facial expressions and movements. The game is similar to youth entertainment called "Crocodile". The one who guessed the task becomes the leader.

Make a clean whatman paper, felt-tip pen and scarf. Attach the sheet to a cabinet, refrigerator or wall. Draw an oval in the center. Then, blindfold a volunteer with a scarf, give a felt-tip pen and ask to draw a hat for Santa Claus.

The second participant draws eyes, a third nose, a fourth beard and so on. It turns out a very funny portrait. Usually, entertainment doesn’t end with one drawing.

There are those who wish, requiring a clean sheet to independently paint the entire portrait.

Try writing down Happy New Year greetings in one album or copybook. Let everyone write individual wishes. Kids can draw. Next year you will open an album and check what events have come true. Praise each other for achievements.

There is an interesting game of wishes. In the last days of December, give everyone a notebook, on the cover indicate the name of the owner. Turn the notebook up with paper clips. Fill out a short wish, wrap the bottom corners up to make a triangle. Tuck or seal the upper corner. Put a little surprise in the resulting pocket: a photo, postcard, sticker, souvenir. And such triangles unfold and read on New Year's Eve.

Sometimes parents suggest that children send a letter to Santa Claus asking for a gift. Sometimes babies ask for things you don’t have money for. This problem needs to be dealt with delicately.

If the family has many children, then it is better to give approximately the same gifts. Let it be sweets, school supplies, books, warm clothes (gloves, scarf, plaid, hat). And tickets for a family watching a movie in the best movie theater or a joint tour.

Expensive things are better to choose together, and not give a surprise.

This entertainment is especially popular in the private sector. Almost every yard launches its own fireworks.

The organization of this beautiful sight should be done by an adult.

Be sure to follow the safety rules. Each type of firework comes with an instruction that needs to be studied. The show is launched at night, and a place for it is chosen in advance in the afternoon.

At this moment, the whole family gathers around the table. Champagne is poured into the glasses, for children carbonated sweet water or juice. And at 12 o’clock in the morning they wish each other a Happy New Year!
