Some time ago it became known that Hollywood actor Brad Pitt was supposed to play a major role in the new picture of Nikita Mikhalkov "Sunstroke". However, due to a fundamental change in the concept of the film, the collaboration did not take place. The actor was simply not ready for such a change in the vision of the picture.
According to the Minister of Culture of Russia Vladimir Medinsky, if Pitt had played in Mikhalkov’s film, the picture would have been not about the poet Bunin, but about Brad Pitt. And then, of course, the tape would easily be included in foreign rentals, which was not the main goal of the director.
As a result, the main role in the film was played by Latvian Martins Kalita and student Slivers Victoria Solovieva. Curiously, Mikhalkov himself helped to enroll in a theatrical institution at the Victoria branch of the budget.
