When a young mother begins to care for her baby, she instantly has a lot of questions.

And this is absolutely normal, because every woman not only wants to take care of her baby, but also not to harm her.

That is why the question of how to clean the baby’s ears and how to do it as correctly as possible does not cease to be relevant.

Simple process or vice versa? Is it possible or impossible to clean the ears?

It may seem that there is nothing archaic in ordinary ear cleaning. Indeed, it is enough only to buy a package of ear sticks in a store or pharmacy, moisten them with warm water or hydrogen peroxide, insert a wand into the child’s ear and twist there. As it turns out, this approach is completely wrong and even dangerous.

Doctors forbid the child to clean the ears. Allow you to clean only the auricle, but under no circumstances to get inside the ear. Parents, remember! Only clean the auricle!

To clean the baby’s ears in this way is impossible for the following reasons:

- the walls of the ear canal of the peanut are very easily injured;

- the baby's eardrum can be injured with sticks;

- each movement of a cotton swab does not so much contribute to the extraction of sulfur from the ear, as it pushes it deeper and deeper; Sulfur is compressed over time, the result may be a cork, which makes it difficult to hear and causes the child not very pleasant sensations.

How to clean your baby’s ears? From sulfur to sulfur cork

There is another reason why it is better not to clean your baby’s ears with cotton buds. Sulfur is a natural lubricant, which is necessary for the proper functioning of the baby’s hearing organs (and not only). Its lack in the ear canal must be somehow compensated. And when the mother carefully removes it from the ear of the crumbs, so she creates a certain deficit of the necessary secret.

The result will be more active work of the sulfur glands. That is, the more often the secret is removed from the child’s ears, the better it will be produced.

But if, after all, it so happened that the sulfuric plug still arises, in no case should you remove it yourself, at home! There is a great chance that these actions can allow injury to the child’s ear. It is imperative to show the baby to the doctor - an otolaryngologist, and not to take any independent actions.

How to clean your child’s ears? Self-cleaning baby's ears

It turns out that nature has conceived so that our ears can self-clean. The glands - sebaceous and sulfuric - located in the ear, skillfully secrete a special secret that protects the ear from damage. In the ear, the epithelial cells are constantly being updated from the eardrum to the outside.

In addition, the self-cleaning ears "put his hand" and the temporomandibular joint, its structure. During a normal conversation, coughing, sneezing, laughing, or eating, - that is, during any movement of the jaw, sulfur accumulated in the ear and dead epithelial cells are expelled from the ear.

How to clean your child’s ears? When and by what?

How, after all, should parents carry out the process of properly cleansing their little ears? From the foregoing, we can already conclude that you should not "climb" with a cotton swab inside the organ of hearing. On the contrary, the auricle, in which there is an accumulation of released sulfur, needs to be cleaned.

This is best done in the evenings, while bathing the baby. There are two simple reasons. According to the first, the baby actively sucked his mother’s breast all day, which made it possible for the secret to come out of the depths of his ears. And according to the second - due to the effect of warm water, sulfur is always softened and it is much easier to remove. It is enough to rinse with your fingers the ears of the crumbs with the most ordinary water, without using additional funds. After that you can wipe it with a swaddle or a soft towel.

During the week, you can once or twice additionally clean the baby’s ears with a piece of marleka, twisted into a thin flagellum.

It would be more correct to moisten gauze a little with ordinary boiled water or oil. Some parents use cotton wool for the same purpose. Also a good choice. But sometimes it can break up into fibers and adults will “forget” its part in the baby’s ear, thereby causing him some inconvenience.
