People are constantly having more and more mania. And today, experts note the emergence of yet another - "addiction to beauty" - beauty addiction.
The main symptoms are familiar to many: increased attention to the appearance of their own body.
It is known that for a long time the main example of a painful fixation on one’s own appearance was anorexia - a mental disorder consisting in an irresistible desire to become slimmer.
But mania is gaining momentum, forming new forms. For example, "tanorexia" - dependence on tanning. This mania is characteristic of people who do not leave tanning salons. The reason for this attachment to the color of "chocolate" is that defects on a tanned body are less visible than on pale skin. As a result, it seems that ultraviolet is a panacea.
The main risk group for tanorexia includes young people of both sexes 14-25 years old. They feel psychological addiction to constant visits to tanning salons and refuse to believe in the harmful effects of excessive amounts of ultraviolet radiation on the skin condition.
